Geezz..it was the most stresseful experience of my life….ordering inviations I finally got them done and then sent. They were semi-DIY. I was determined to have very lovely, elegant inviations, but not spend a fortune..this was easier said than done but in time, It got complete.
It’s been about two weeks now and no one has even mentioned them to me really…except one single person who messaged me to say how lovely they are….and some second hand accounts of people who were pissed I didn’t include registry cards. I really feel like I freaked out over nothign and people generally dont give a hoot about inviations. lol…or they are just being akward because they can’t make it, which is fine, I expect most of my guests won;t…since it’s wayyyy out
town…but I really wanted to make everyone feel included.
Did any of you get any excitement or anything from anyone after they got yours?
Her’s mine..I worked so hard..guess I was just hoping for more kudos. OH WELL!!

I haven’t sent mine yet, so I have no stories to share. But I think yours are lovely!

I’m dealing with this too. A few people texted or left facebook comments to say they were cute, but a lot of people haven’t mentioned them yet. Oh well, I guess you just have to remember your wedding isn’t as important to anyone as it is to you!

beautiful! ours went out last week, and honestly, i keep thinking “how is not every single person texting me to say they received the invitation and that they love it!’ lol. but then i think, hey, i’m super busy, and if i got this i might say to myself how much i love it but forget to call my friend and tell THEM how much i love it.

Yours are definitely lovely! With that said, I’m one of those guests who couldn’t give a hoot about what the invitation looks like. It ends up in my trash can at the end of the day. While I’ll think it’s pretty when I take it out of the envelope, I wouldn’t think to mention to the bride how pretty they were…sorry! I’m a bad guest…haha…

They’re really pretty!! I like them a lot.

No one cares about the details like the bride. Most people just look upon it as an invitation, not a work of art to be reviewed.

Wow, your invitations are gorgeous.
But yeah, no one is going to comment on them. In my experience, you’ll just be lucky if people rsvp, much less praise the invites. 🙂
Think of it as a satisfying, lovely art project you got to do…

@2PeasinaPod: You and me both. I guess AFTER I got married, I started paying more attention to them but not really. Sorry.

however…we’ll praise you!! looks very elegant and sophisticated.

I got feedback about how excited people were to have received them, but I don’t know that guests usually comment too much on the design — I think they just expect your invites to be beautiful, which they are by the way! 🙂

your invitations are beautiful! i think that honestly, people just don’t always think to say that – we have received some rsvps with notes on them from people about how beautiful they were – and i know that when we sent out save the dates, i only heard from a few people by text/phone call/etc – but when we went to a party after that with all of fi’s family they couldn’t stop gushing over them – i am sure that as you see people who have received them they will tell you how beautiful they are. you did an amazing job and should be super proud of yourself!

I think they are really gorgeous and classy. I think only immediate family and friends tend to comment on details like invites.

People pretty much don’t care about invites. The only people who will even remember what they looked like come your wedding day is you and possibly your mother! It’s one of those things that brides spend way too much energy and money on for the amount of notice they receive.
(but, they are really pretty!)

They turned out lovely! I hope you get some more excitement coming your way soon, I would feel a bit bummed if no one mentioned mine, either (I haven’t sent them out yet).
