Im not sure what you mean by reception spacific invites. Even custom made invites you come up with or okay the wording. why not get DIY (print yourself) invatatios so they can say whatever you would like them to.
wording for the reception something like this..
Sarah and Thomas Moran request the honor of your presence at a celebration of their marriage Saturday, the ninth of January at seven o' clock Rob Roy Country Club Mount Prospect, Illinois
This way, guests will be aware that the wedding itself has already taken place. Then go about ceremony invites the same way you normally would. Hope this helps.
@organizedbride11: Thank you for replying.. I would love to get DIY invitations, but I am seriously afraid I will mess something up! I know it probably sounds silly, but I'm no good at anything crafty. I'm sure they make all sorts of DIY invitation kits that make it simple to use them... but I would rather trust the pros.
Yes, most invitation ordering sites online let you customize some of the wording... but the ones I have seen only let you fill in the names, location, date, time, etc. So they end up still looking like you are inviting the guests to the wedding as opposed to the reception.
I may end up having to actually attempt the DIY route because of the wording conflict. Although, I posted this for recommendations for sites to assist in avoiding that! :) Thanks for your help, though!

Hello, ladies!
I'm new to the boards, but am hoping to gain some very helpful advice here!
First order of business for me... I need both wedding invitations w/RSVP cards AND reception invitations w/RSVP cards!
We are getting married @ Niagara Falls in August, 2012. Our reception will be the weekend after the wedding in our hometown in Indiana!
I have looked several places (maybe I'm looking in all the wrong ones?) and cannot find reception specific invites. This is so difficult because we are not inviting everyone to both events. We truly only need about 35-40 wedding invites, and about 150 reception invites!
Has anyone done something similar/in the process of planning something similar? If you have any advice, I would GREATLY appreciate it, since I'm sort of at a loss!
Thanks so much ladies and I look forward to getting to know you through our postings :)
