I was so excited and proud to send out my invitations yesterday and could not wait for the feedback and now I found out I put Saturday on the invitation instead of Friday. I am crushed. I don’t know what to do. Send out a postcard? I can’t afford to completely redo the invitations.

Oh no!!! I would do like you said, send out a little postcard or notecard of some sort clarifying the date. If you don’t have the money to mail another item out to everyone (postage adds up!), call those who are super close to you – they’ll understand.

i would def. do a postcard- good idea!
You can get them fairly inexpensively from Vista print.
I would then follow up with the RSVPs once you start getting them- follow up by phone!

So did you have Saturday, October 22, 2010 written down?
If so, i’m sure people will realize when they look and see the 22nd is really a friday. I guess it still might be a good idea to contact some people thought, especially is travel is involved.

Yes, the postcard is good and maybe a few phone calls to spead the word but believe me, in the grand scheme of things, this is really not a big deal. Do NOT beat yourself up over this or lose any sleep. You are getting married!!! It’s going to be the best day of your life!! The celebration is going to start on Friday and continue well into Sunday so who cares what day is written on your invite, right?!?!? Carry on and enjoy your planning.

yea i was wondering was the date wrong as well as the day? or was everything wrong? Because then once ppl start looking at the calendar they will realise that it was meant to be friday anyway. personally if i couldnt afford to redo i would follow up with a phone call

Def send a postcard. People won’t be sure if you messed up the Saturday part or the Oct 22nd part. Vista print is really fast and cheap!!

The invitations were mailed
We breathed a great sigh
Then we looked at the words
And went “My Oh My!”
The date is correct
The day of the week is so wrong
We’ll wed on the Friday
And laugh all lifelong.
Please join us FRIDAY, October 22, 2010!

AWWW, I love that poem to let your guests know! I’d be bummed too, spending all that time and money for just the right invites only to find it was wrong 🙁 I know in a year or two it won’t matter at all, best luck getting it sorted out!
