It sounds like she is a vendor for the invitation printing company. You do not pay for her services as she likely makes a commission from the order that she sold you.
Think of the jeweler who helped your FI with your engagement ring; your FI did not pay him for selling him the ring, the salesperson did receive a commission from your ring though.
The best way to thank her for her helpfullness is to refer other people to her. Perhaps your MOH could get your shower invites through her?

So today I FINALLY ordered my invitations. I did not want to sit down and make the do-it-yourself invitations, so instead I opted to go to someone who knows a lot about invitations!
I met with a lady who helps people choose invitations and orders them (graduation, showers, weddings, etc.). She is based out of her home and has her own business. She does not make the invitations herself. She helps people choose invitations, guides us into what to put on our invitations, and places the orders to the companies that make the invitations.
My mom and I sat down with her for a little over an hour looking at wedding invitations. She had huge binders from different invitation companies that were filled with all sorts of designs for wedding invitations! We finally chose an invitation style and ordered them. Since we are inviting a little more than 300 people to our wedding, we counted 175 households. We just went ahead and ordered 200 invitations & envelopes, reception cards, response cards (RSVP), and return envelopes with our address printed on them..all for $360! AND...they are very nice invitatios too! :)
My question is, should I have paid her for her services? I asked her how much I owed her for her services, and she looked at me funny and said "You are paying what it says in the binder for your invitations". I was still confused by this, so I just didn't bring it up; I pretended to understand.
Do I pay her for her services or does she get paid through my invitation ordering? She did an amazing job because she was so helpful towards me and she was very professional! I don't know what to do! HELP!
