How close are you guys anyway? I'm close to my boss BUT he's a guy so I'm not inviting him to the shower but he is invited to the wedding. Will your shower have a mixture of family and friends?
I invited my boss and coworkers, and it was really very awkward with my boss there. I did so largely because I knew my coworkers would blab about it later, and because someone would have been offended if that happened. I wish now that I hadn't. It wasn't horrible, but the day would have been better and less stressful for my coworkers without my boss.
Are you having a work shower or lunch or something? I didn't invite my manager to either of my 2 showers because we normally do something at work.

I am having a destination wedding but I am still inviting the girls in my dept. to my bridal shower (they all would fly anyway to the wedding). Question is, should I invite our boss? We're all pretty cool with her, but she is much older than us (we all range from early 20's to early 30's - and she is a hip grandma). I wouldn't mind, but I wonder if my co-workers will feel funny about her being there. BTW - my bridal shower is a Victoria Tea House. Thanks in advance!
