Im hoping to make my own invites or at least assemble my own invites to keep the costs vaguely sane.
I’ve worked out what I want on the front of the invite, but have hit a rut and can’t work out what to do inside so im hoping one of you creative bees might help! I also cant work out how to get a picture online of whats in my head, my paper drawings arent really up to public viewing so im going to have to try and describe it. sorry it got a bit long.
our theme is red and white roses – for yorkshire/lancashire – so im trying to keep an equal amount of red and white.
I like simple, but not boring. and I hate pictures/drawings of roses especially the sort of vintage-y ones – they make me think of old ladies, whereas im going for something more modern.
Im planning a z or tri fold invitation thats square. The front panel will be white with a black strip down the side (made from ribbon) – im going to cut cross shapes in it to echo our venue http://www.samlesburyhall.co.uk/
The top right corner will have a small red satin rose and a small white satin rose.
the bottom right corner will say wedding or evening in some sort of swirly curly scripty font.
so inside – far left panel will have the invite in dutch, middle will have the invite in english, not sure what will be on the far right panel yet.
the back will have hotel/travel info and a map.
im also planning a separate RSVP card to sit inside.
I cant figure out how to make the inside interesting and not just plain text on the card – do I use different fonts/ different colour writing?, do I mount it on black/red card? do I print it onto black/red card? Do i add more satin roses?
any ideas will be very gratefully received, ive completely run out of inspiration.
