We skipped the whole naming parents and just said “together with their parents”  but then again, my mom is contributing a little but we’re footing most of the bill!

Even though your FI’s father isn’t contributing, I think including him with the other parents would flow the smoothest… assuming the other parents won’t get in a tiffy about that.  So something like:

With Joyful Hearts,
Dad and Mom MaidenName
together with
Stepdad and Mom StepName
and
Dad MarriedName
invite you to the marriage
ceremony uniting
My MaidenName
and
His MarriedName

I agree that you should include him with the other parents.  It would be really awkward and kind of a slap in the face to list him at the bottom.  Everyone should be fine with this option unless those paying are really concerned with being recognized for it (which I hope they aren’t).

we had a similar issue, but ours was because his father had passed away and his mother remarried. because we didn’t want to leave out his father or his stepfather, we simply worded the invitation:

“Together with their parents,

Miss Birdy

and

Mr Birdy

request the honour of your presence

as they join together in marriage”

or something like that. just another idea. good luck 🙂
