So my DH just began his new job at a large energy company. This Saturday is their staff party. There is a golf tournament (which I am not a part of) and then a BBQ back at the CEO’s lake cabin.
I am coming to the BBQ and am so stuck on what to wear. I want to impress, but I don’t want to overdress, obviously. We are also a fairly younger couple, and with DH being brand new to this company, I’m sure he wants to make a good impression. Oh, I should add that the weather calls for it to be 22 celcius (but it always ends up being/feeling hotter than that).

Unless the invitation states something more formal, I would expect that a summer dress would be appropriate for you, a Button down shirt and Khakis, or golf shirt and khakis should be fine for him.

Oh I kind of hate these things! My husband has an annual get together like this with his company that he’s been with for 7 years & I still fret over what to wear wear every year haha.
Yours sounds fairly relaxed. What about a cute maxi dress or skirt? Jeans with a nice blouse & wedges are always cute too, but maybe not if it’s going to be hot!

Yea I’m leaning towards a summer dress, however I also don’t want to appear juvenile.

I would wear a sundress as long as it isn’t too revealing. I think if you choose a more mature print (i.e. monochrome florals instead of polka dots) you’ll look great!

I would wear a classic summer dress that leans preppy with a cute cotton sweater or cardigan. Keep it simple, classic and polished!

Sundress that isn’t too short or lowcut and sandals or flats.
