TL;DR in bold
I wonder if you can help me approach a situation with grace.
I have been invited to the hen’s night (bachelorette) party of a friend and former roommate, but not to her wedding.
We have largely lost touch and I honestly did not expect an invitation to her wedding (or hen’s night), but am excited that she is getting married. I know money is tight for everyone these days and it I don’t resent her for not inviting me.
I have accepted the invitation to the party and look forward to seeing her and celebrating. My concern is that people will ask “So, are you looking forward to attending the wedding?” and so on, and I won’t know what to say. What can I say that will avoid embarrassing the bride or other guests?
Ideas appreciated 🙂
