I'm guessing just like a card you would send in the mail?
A lot of people are cutting out the inner envelope because 1) it helps the environment 2) most people never really know why there's 2 envelopes anyway.
Address them specifically to the people who are invited on the single outer envelope. So:
-If it's a single person, just their name (or "and guest" if they are allowed to bring someone you don't know. If you know the guest's name that you're allowing them to invite, include it).
-If it's a couple, both their names, ie "Mr. & Mrs. John Smith" or "Jane & John Smith"
-If it's a family, list everyone invited, ie "John, Jane, Jim & John Smith". Don't be afraid to use 2 or 3 lines to fit all the names if you have to.

My brother and his fiancee just received their wedding invites. They only have outer envelopes.
I'm trying to find out for him the proper way to address invites that only have an outer envelope. Anybody know? I searched the internet but came up empty. Thanks!!!
