We are inviting a famous musican, because my FI actually knows him! I doubt he’s going to come though because he’s a busy man and we aren’t close with him or anything. My FI “met” him through an exotic car board and they chit chat on facebook a lot.

I wish I had known that people do this before I got married. We would’ve invited Radiohead and the President.

Since I got married though, I’ve seen threads like this a few times… why was no one talking about this before March?

We “invited” the President and First Lady.  We got a card from them after the wedding.

Heh, I was in a wedding last year…and the former governor of my state was there! (He was the governor until 2007, so not long ago! then he went into policy work and worked with the bride.) I was the MOH, so i helped the bride with invites and such and she let me address his. We giggled wondering if he’d actually  come. At the reception, The other bridesmaids and I played find the governor…and it turned out he was right in our line of sight. So strange to see that guy all over the tv and then eating steak at a table 10ft away. I only wish he had stayed for the dancing. I wanted to see that!

@Araya:  @Miss_Magoo82:  I guess I can probably say it, it’s not like he’s going to find out on a wedding message board by googling himself or anything. Plus his facebook is under his real name and it not searchable, he has to find & add you. It’s Sir Mix-a-lot!

Do brewmaster from craft breweries count? :). We had a beer industry table at our wedding.

If you search, you can find addresses on her for the usual suspects (President, Pope, Queen, etc).

They film this tv show “The Walking Dead” in the town I am getting married in ( I am getting married at my family’s home).  So we sent the cast an invite.  Doubt they will come, haha but it was fun to do.

I have an in with a certain star of Supernatural – he’s technically my boss. And I’m SO tempted to send him an invite to my wedding! I don’t know if that’s going to be weird though…

@Hiya_Unicorn:  Nice! I love the Walking Dead!

We considered inviting Dana Carvey. FI’s family has some close ties, and he was at his uncle’s wedding. It would have been cool but I would have spent the entire time bowing and yelling “We’re not worthy!
