In order to get the whole big ballroom to ourselves for our wedding, we must have 81+ guests. If we have 80 – 50 we only get half the ballroom.
I don’t want to share the venue with anyone else (makes it less special) so we are aiming to invite around 90-100 guest (hoping that not all could make it to make it around 85 or so).
Doing the math, if we invite all adults (19+ that covers food and open bar drinks), it would cost way to much then we want to spend.
Our venue has a sperate price for childen (children under 7 are free), and they are considered as a seat at the venue. So to offset the cost and to get the whole room to ourselves, would it be weird to invite children as “filler” guest to my wedding.
We are already allowing family childen to the wedding, but were going to stop there and not allow children outside the family in, but now I am reconsidering this option.
What do you bees think?

I think it’s a great way to hit the required quota, without a major hit to your wallet. Well, I just hope that you’re not only viewing these kids as “filler,” but also little guests as well.

There’s really no reason to not invite them if there is a separate area for them to be that will be supervised.

@KingsDaughter: I’m playing with the same possibility. Before you start inviting the tikes, make sure you check your contract though. My venue states that I must have 80 ADULTS, not just 80 people. Good luck!

It would not only be a good way to get the room, it would also be a good way to maybe get more adults to show. They can just bring their children and wont need to find a sitter.
Just dont tell anyone lol
