I would love info on this as well. I am considering this for budgetary reasons and space concerns. I’ve actually downloaded a few cheaper apps similar to this (either free or .99). Pocketbooth, instabooth, and popbooth. Pocketbooth and weddingbooth seem the most promising.

Seeing as everyone uses smart phones these days Iam doing a bit of a DIY photo booth using the Wedding Party app.

I have purchased some props that I will lay out on each table (lips, mostaches, glasses, hats etc on sticks that i got off ebay) and I have made up some cards I will frame to put on each table explaining how to download our wedding app.

You can also txt or email people your app detials prior to the wedding so they know what it is about before hand.

I cant wait to use it, the app looks so professional and it will be a great way to capture all those candid shots not only at the reception but throughout the day.

Its very cool — check out out.  best of all its FREE!

@Charliejeorge:  I’ve seen this ipad app too and saved it for reference it looks great! It would be good to hear some reviews though – if it’s reliable it’d be a fantastic and much less expensive alternative!

I would certainly consider using it – I ran the more expensive photo booth ideas past my fiance and he was up for it (woo!) but it would probably be one of the things to get cut should the budget get blown! Hence, the ipad option could be a good alternative 🙂 let us know if you find some good/bad reviews!

hi everyone I got married last month and i used the wedding booth app it went really well everyone enjoyed it and its super simple to use.

I had mine inside a tent that’s used as a shower / cupboard tent so that it felt like a photobooth which I got off eBay but I have seen at many camping stores.

The app takes 3 photos after a quick countdown and then gives them a screen to write a message, this is an optional feature, it then gives a choice to print or to email the picture.

So a few tips buy a lamp or spotlight to use as lighting, make sure you know where a suitable spot for your booth is somewhere nearby a powerpoint. This is essential as to make the app user friendly you will need to turn off the lock/off screen function so that ur iPad just stays open to the app. Also not essential but gret ivy can have access to the net so your guests can email the picture to themselves or so you can use a printer and air-print.

another tip put someone in charge of just checking on it every half hr or so, mine got taken out of the app a few times and the angle of it and the Angle of the lamp changed afew times

heres what the pages turnout like

just ask if u have any other questions I might be able to answer

    @Charliejeorge:

yep people will just take their own photos (as people normally do at weddings anyway) but hopefully with some gentle reminders they’ll upload them to the ap – the instruction cards near the props, and an announcement from the mc should be enough without being too pushy.

Guests also comment and like photos on the ap so its like your own little community without it being splashed all over facebook or instagram.

After the wedding, you download all the files people have uploaded in a zip file 🙂

@Charliejeorge:  Sorry I’m just seeing this now! I never got an email saying there was a response 🙁    Anyways, that’s the same thing we are considering…….we’d have to fix any problems plus our reception space doesn’t have internet so we wouldn’t be able to print the pictures! So unfortunately I don’t think we are going with it. But it does seem like a great low cost alternative! I just don’t know what I’m going to do now, because I really don’t think a photobooth is going to fite in my venue

@MrsPadlock2B:  What is the layout of prints if there isn’t a guest book screen? I won an ipad at my company party and I’m trying to figure out the best photobooth options/apps!

@Charliejeorge:  I bought that app and it works great for me when the guest book portion of it is activated. I didn’t want to use that and make people sign every time they used it so I turned the guest book/comment part off. Now, it distorts the photos. 🙁 I wasn’t going to pay for an actual booth so I got Sparkbooth. It’s a computer program that costs $60. You need a webcam and a button. That’s it. I tried out the setup at thanksgiving with my family and works great!!

Another thing I like about Sparkbooth is that there’s an auto upload feature you can use for photo websites. I’ll set one up and then have cards available near the props that say where people go to view/download their photos. Also, it saves the individual images as well as the final layout. Wedding Booth app only saves the final layout so you can’t pull your favorite from the set of 3 to print, send, etc.
