My husband and I are planning a small, intimate destination vow renewal taking place in either Ireland or Scotland. It will only be he and I and two of our close friends. For a “reception” would a high tea be appropriate?

Not appropriate unless these friends are locals. If they’re traveling then you need to at least feed them a meal.

@indiegrace166642: If it’s a full High Tea, and not just tea and scones, I don’t see why not. I love High Tea! but all the places that do it properly around here cost a minimum of $60-75 per person!

i should clarify they are traveling with us for a week, so they are not simply traveling to witness the vow renewal. So normal meals will be had, we simply were trying to think of something simple and enjoyable to do after the ceremony.

@indiegrace166642: Since there is only 4 of you, I think a nice meal would be better, even if they are traveling with you for a week, but that’s just my personal preference. A vow renewal in Ireland sounds amazing! GL 🙂

As much as i love high tea, i know fi despises it…. It would be cuter for a hen day or just ladies day out… Men tend to thinks its not substantial enough to replace a meal… I’d take them out for a real meal.
