Are you getting married in the USA or in Ireland? I'm sure you know more about Irish traditions than most of us.
What things are done differently in Ireland?
In Ireland but I am not really aware of any uniquely Irish wedding traditions that are still practiced these days. I was just wondering if people had any ideas how I could incorporate both backgrounds into the day or any suggestions of favors that we could use.
@mrsk2b: You could incorporate Bells of Ireland into your bouquet and possibly do some Claddaugh and celtic cross decor; however, subtle you like. Or even for the dinner do a slight nod towards some of your favorite Irish foods.
You can check out this site for some Irish themed wedding favors. It has irish mugs, irish pub style coasters etc. Tons of sales and world wide shipping available. You and your spouse can use this as bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts too!
You could do something with four leaf clovers and luck, maybe a scratch and win favour? Or horseshoes turned up so the luck doesn't run out? Or do a handfasting as part of your ceremony?
I am going to follow this thread as we are the opposite, FI is Irish and I am American. His mother is getting me doilies from Ireland to use with our centerpieces but I would love some other ideas on how to integrate Ireland into our rustic/vintage wedding. :)

Hi there,
I am Irish and my FI is American and I am trying to think of some ways to incorporate something from each country into the wedding reception. For example, for the candy buffet I was thinking of doing 'typical' American candy (hersheys kisses etc.) and 'typical' Irish candy too.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks
