- Wedding: December 2015
Ladies I need some advice…my fiancé and I plan on getting married the week before Christmas December 2015 ie. 16 months away. Iv always dreamed of a Christmas wintery wedding and FI is obsessed with Christmas too so it makes perfect sense. Currently though we live in New Zealand and are home to Ireland this December so by the time all the excitement about being home after not seeing family for two years and being newly engaged ect is over, realistically we won’t start to view venues and get into proper planning until January. As for the details we want our wedding to be in a Catholic church and have a country house style reception somewhere in Leinster with roughly 100 guests.
We have of course been searching for receptions online and have found a few we love the look of but it’s virtually impossible to know for sure without seeing them in person. I’m more relaxed about getting good idea what we want before we go home but FI is very particular about not booking anything we haven’t seen in person and doesn’t want our parents (who live back home) to view them for us because he thinks we should enjoy the experience ourselves. I’m just worried though that the venues and vendors will be booked out by then. For those of you who planned a wedding in less than a year…was it enough time? Did you get the venue, photographer, church that you wanted or did you have to settle? I’f there’s any Irish or UK brides please speak up!!
