Wasn’t able to see the pic for some reason I have a halo engagement ring and I wanted one over a carat…until I went and tried on rings with my theN boyfriend bc he wasn’t sure on my size bc I never wear rings. I also wear a size 4 and after picking mine it’s right unde a carat total. I decided I wanted smaller with more sparkle and intensity 🙂 I love mine, but do what u feel is best 🙂

cwh:  Do you have a picture of your current ring too? I don’t think a 1.3 halo would look too large on your hand at all. You could always put a halo around your current stone though. Your ring would still look substantial and the size difference that you would gain from an extra .3 probably wouldn’t be huge.

cwh:  I think that looks fine on you. Your fingers are slim, but they look long. The proportion is nice.

As you have a 1ct already, adding a halo it would still be very substantial so I would definitely reset. Why pay for a whole new diamond when you can keep your original. It will be more special that way too.

cwh:  your set is gorgeous by the way. I think the halo may detract from your band a bit too much.

If you want a larger center stone and a halo, I’d recommend setting aside a good amount for the setting. Some halos have a bit more metal in them, which looks great with smaller stones or when adding milligrain. However a lot of metal in the setting for a large stone can overpower the center stone.

Size wise, just wear whatever your comfortable with. Some girls don’t like larger stones and notice them constantly on their hand and others wear them well and never have any problems.

I think it would look fine. I’m a size 5 and I tried on a 1.3 cushion halo with pave side stones. While that would look great on someone else, it wasn’t for me. I think it depends on your taste. I tend to dress very plain and work with my hands, a setting like that overwhelmed me, though it may look wonderful on you.

cwh:  I think your friend’s ring looks a lot bigger only because of the halo though.  IMO there isn’t a huge difference in the actual stone size. If you put a halo around yours and then put them side to side, I think they would look more similar than you think 🙂
