You don’t really have to have anything except a willing partner and a marriage license.

If you are worried about the theme, I would say flowers are still appropriate, and I am at a loss for a suitable alternative. If you just don’t like them, just don’t use them.

I’m not doing any boutenierres at all for my beach wedding….it just seemed like a silly expense to me.   I’ve seen sooo many pics of weddings where the groom/groomsmen were NOT wearing them, and it looks fine.

I don’t think you need them, but I think they are a nice touch. What about a fabric flower made out of polka dot fabric?

You dont have to have them, but if you want to, you can google unique boutonnieres and lots of great ideas come up. I am using peacock feathers to make my boutonnieres

You could do polka dotted pinwheels! I think it would be so whimsical!
