We are having a mix matched wedding party I have a brides-man and he is having a grooms-woman, his GW is still involved in all the same activities as the rest of my bridesmaids, my MOH is making the “bachlorette party” co-party. We may even have a “wedding party” outting or whatnot so everyone is involved we are very nontraditional so we just want everything to be fun! We anyway back to my question at hand, Is a bridal shower just for the girls? Is it just for the women that will be invited?

I typically think of a bridal shower as only for women. Couples showers are pretty common, and they are for everyone.

I think traditionally it’s just for women, but coed parties are becoming more and more common

No, but it’s generally really boring for the guys.

@AndysCraftsNmore: You could do a shower for both of you and have everyone come!

@AndysCraftsNmore: Just don’t call it a ‘bridal shower’. ‘Couple’s shower’ (as suggested) or ‘engagement shower’ or ‘pre-hitching shindig’ might help your men friends feel less weird about attending.

I had a couples shower with all my parents friends, it was so much fun! It was a brunch but it felt like a cocktail party And fave my FILS a chance to meet spme of the wedding guests. My stuffy old uncle didn’t attend because he “didn’t believe men should attend showers” but that was his problem.

We had a couple’s shower! I was never a big fan of so much of the wedding stuff being only about the bride…it’s the groom’s day too!
We had a big BBQ with everyone, and it was a blast. It was also great bc we had a small wedding (only 65 ppl), so everyone who hadn’t already met met at the shower and that way everyone knew each other at the wedding.

Personally, I really liked that it was a girls-only day. DH would have been bored with opening kitchen stuff, plus I liked that the lingerie was a suprise!
