My wedding dress recently came in and while I love it, I’m noticing something weird and I want to know if it’s normal.
At the bottom of the corset where the strings are tucked in there is a pretty large bulge. The fabric doesn’t lay flat. My parents were with me when I tried it on and both mentioned it to the seamstress/shop owner and she said it was normal. I couldn’t see it as they didn’t have a mirror allowing me to have a good view of the back. Not that I look at pictures I think it’s really noticeable!
It looks to me like the fabric was not sewn properly and doesn’t look flat. Is this normal? Can it be fixed?

Hm… I am not an expert, but maybe your dress is slightly too big around your hips? Or needs some steaming?

@ke_murphy: Are the laces tied? I think it’s just the knot pushing the fabric up!

My first thought was also that it looks too big in the hips. Like its extra fabric bunching up or something.

I don’t really see a bulge, but I agree that it probably needs to be taken in a little bit and steamed. If I had to guess, they probably used those big clamps to hold the sample dress tightly against you when you first tried it on, and that can make a big difference in how it looks.
Slightly unrelated, your dress is stunning! I’m not engaged yet, but I absolutely adore the corset back and the silhouette of your dress. I’m sure it will look perfect once your seamstress has made the necessary alterations 🙂
