My colour is supposed to be champagne. I found there are two different main types of champagne one which is more pinkish like this

and one which is more golden

I had to decide which one i wanted first before things got easier

@MrsBrown13:  My dress is organza and lace in light champagne and champagne. I think champagne covers a fairly wide range of colours and you have to specify what sort you would like.

I have been told that champagne is a darker more prominent ivory. My tablecloths are going to be champagne so that the ivory doesnt look bland.

@Demi-chan:  Ooh, that’s gorgeous! A wedding dress that I don’t hate. Can I be nosy and ask who makes it?

@CeeBeeUK:  Thank you 🙂 It’s a custom design made for me by Jasmines Bridal Shop. It was originally based on Caroline Castigliano’s ‘Beauty’ which was gorgeous but simply out of my budget. I changed the colour and added some elements of other dresses I liked to it. I had a matching veil made as well, can’t wait for them to arrive!

My Mikaella dress is allegedly champagne. It sure looks it on the model, too, but in person I would definitely describe it as ivory (though admittedly more on the “antique” end of ivory):

Even David’s has/had multiple shades of champagne (light, dark, and Oleg). It does vary and can go anway from the pinkish hue to the goldish hue and sometimes it can take a weird turn into brown.

(this was my first dress–it is much browner than it looks)

The gown I actually wore at my wedding was light champagne with a full-length ivory lace jacket and dark champagne beading.

@MrsBrown13:  There are many colors called champagne, just like there are many colors called red.

I suggest you decide which one of them you like then shop with swatches or paint chips in that color.

I tried on some Watters and Wtoo dreses in champagne and they were NOT like the pictures online. Online they looked straight up gold and in person they looked much softer and prettier. It still totally washed me out and looked terrible on my super pale complexion.

I think champagne is one of those wildcards that you really just need to see and play with in person.

ETA: I wasn’t allowed to take pics at that salon. Sorry.

With any color I think you need to see it in person, ideally in multiple lightings.  Considering there are about 100 shades of white I’m sure Chanmpagne can mean just about anything.

My dress is considered champagne. In person it looks like champagne color, in pictures it looks a little more blush
