We’re on a pretty small budget for our wedding since we’re paying for it ourselves. My fiance wants to have our rehersal dinner at a Mountain Mike’s Pizza place. I’m totally going along with it because I don’t want to do anything really expensive, but I’m wondering what other people will think.. We’re planning on inviting somewhere around 20 people (4 of which would be out of town & 6 out of state).
What would you think if you were invited to the rehersal dinner at a pizza place? Would you care?

I think it’s fine!! Our rehearsal dinner is going to be at our home with Mexican food catered. Whatever you can afford!

I’ve never heard of that place. Is it restaurant style or the order/ seat yourself pizza parlor? I think you can get away with having a pizza rehearsal dinner if it was a sit down dinner deal.

Oh that’s true, i forgot that people do rehearsal dinners at home too 😛
Mountain Mike’s is like a seat yourself pizza place? It has banquet rooms though. My fiance says it’s nicer than a Round Table. (I’ve never actually been in a Mtn Mikes) But it’s nothing like a Pizza Hut or those other cheap places.
Plus it’s right down the road from our venue so it’s kind of convience too.

Pizza is perfectly fine for a rehearsal dinner! A rehearsal can be as laid-back/cheap or fancy/expensive as you want it to be 🙂

Do it! That sounds like a really laid back, low pressure gathering. You won’t have to worry about anything and can just have fun and relax before your big day!

Whew! Thanks for the replies! I makes me feel a lot less worried about it hehe

That sounds like so much fun- do it! Everyone will be well fed without spending a fortune.

I think that’s okay, as long as it is a decent place. I personally LOVE pizza.

We’re doing a pot lick reherasal dinner…so to me if you can afford to do pizza I think you should! lol.

we are paying for more than half of our wedding ourselves too, and also doing our rehearsal dinner at pizza place. we are expecting 40-50 people including kids. it’s so casual and more intimate, instead of having a huge meal the night before your wedding at a sit down restaurant. i say go for it.

Of course it’s OK! Plus, pizza is delicious. 🙂

I think that is perfectly OK (who doesn’t love pizza?)! The last RD I went to was a BBQ in a park pavilion. It was completely laid back and fun!
I am having my RD at a family friend’s house close to my venue. We are having a Mexican fiesta and it is going to be totally casual.

Our RD was a BBQ held in the same park as the ceremony. VERY laid back and casual. Who wants 2 fancy dinners 2 nights in a row? It’s not the wedding 🙂

That’s true. I guess I’ve only been to 1 rehersal dinner to compare it to. And that one was like $2000! So ours will definitely be cheaper than that at a pizza place
