Well, that depends.  When you say it’s “pale” is there color to it?  For example, if it’s a pink dye test, a faint pink line is indeed a positive test.  But if the line is white or gray, it’s not positive, (white lines are sometimes visible on tests where the dye WOULD accumulate if the test was positive, and evap lines are sometimes gray).

The faintness or darkness of a line has to do with the amount of HCG in your urine and the sensitivity of the test.  If you test early, you might have enough HCG to give you a faint positive test as opposed to a dark line.  If you test again in a day or two, that line will typically darken as the HCG in your body increases.

lizzypoo96:  Typically means you are in early pregnancy. But keep in mind that many pregnancies never fully take hold, called a Chemical Pregnancy. So keep POAS and see if the line gets darker.

Congratualtions!

So keep POAS and see if the line gets darker.

If you do this, just make sure you’re using the same brand of test and testing at the same time of day, preferably with FMU.  Different brands have different sensitivites, so if you test with a different brand, you may get a BFN and needlessly freak yourself out when it’s nothing more than a less-sensitive brand.  Or if you test with FMU then test later in the day, you may get a negative test and again freak yourself out, when it’s just that your urine wasn’t as concentrated leading to lower levels of HCG for the test to detect.

I agree with the “post a picture” suggestion!

Hormones are higher in morning urine from holding it at night … Do that see if its any darker … But there are no false positives 🙂

lizzypoo96:  Typically as long as there’s color to the line, it’s considered a line!! (However the general consensus around here is generally that blue dye tests suck…. get yourself a FRER pink dye test, or maybe even a digital!! Since you’re getting darker lines now, you should be able to get a “PREGNANT” reading to ease your mind!!)

Congratulations!!!

Blue dye tests are notorious for false positives. Go get a first response early result. Good luck!

lizzypoo96:  Yup, a faint line is a positive. Hope you’ve restested this morning, just to double check and see if the line has darkened a little bit. Hope you get what you want! 🙂
