While her dress was beautiful, I wouldn’t wear anything resembling such a high-profile gown, especially since the inevitable knock-offs will be nowhere near the same quality league.

Kinda…I’m totally agonizing now. I found my perfect dress but haven’t actually purchased it yet, and now I’m torturing myself thinking that the Kate-style dresses are going to create a new trend and my dress (which is fit n flare/mermaidy) will be out by next year.

I hate shopping for something 1 year before I’m going to wear it! When in your life do you ever do that?? Lol

@Seaside:  Every style goes in and out of trend, and you shouldn’t focus on that!  Get the dress that you love and that looks good on you.  Just because something is trendy doesn’t mean it’s right

I’m very self-conscious when it comes to my arms and don’t love the idea of them being bare, but I don’t love the look of most gowns with sleeves so I’m thrilled that there will be styles coming out patterned after Kate’s dress. I probably will look for something with lace at the arms, though with a different neckline.

@Seaside: I would hope nobody would choose a dress simply because it’s “in”! You should go for a dress that you look and feel beautiful in, whether it’s on trend or not – besides, nobody’s going to know the difference 20 years from now 🙂

@Seaside: Bridal style trends tend to change much slower for exactly this reason.  Try to remember that EVERYONE buys their wedding dress in advance, so it’ll be another year before a trend takes hold.

I definitely loved her dress but am not sure how it would look on me since I am so short. I feel like all the fabric and sleeves will swallow me. But I am thinking about her dress a lot. I feel like my dress is tacky and not elegant what so ever after seeing her dress.
