Goodness, Mr. Bee! You're up early! I cannot BELIEVE the number of people in my class that already have kids! We graduated college (or were supposed to) in 2008 and it's CRAZY how many people already have one (or four!) year olds! And we just had a whole new crop!
No :D... in my circle of friends it's very rare to be pregnant. Most of us had children in our early to mid-30s. I actually don't know anyone who is pregnant or not married... well one cousin and that's it. Everyone else has left the singledom phase for the next phase.. Lol guess I'm behind the wave...
Yes! It seems like everyone is pregnant/ trying to get pregnant or just had a child ... its INSANE. Not that theres anything wrong with it, it just seems like all of a sudden there has been an explosion of baby fever around here.
I noticed the same thing recently too! I have to wonder though, if EVERYONE that gets marreid feels the same way? Because their circle is now of that age? I dunno, but for real, half the people I know are pregnant or have had babies recently. Insanity
Lots and lots of babies... maybe it's the recession.... people are staying in and finding other ways **ah-hem** to entertain themselves. LOL
To me - babies are always a blessing - planned or not.
THAT SAID - I'll be 31 in a few weeks and I'm glad to be finished. My son just turned 9 and my daughter will be 8 this week. FI and I are perfectly happy with the 2 of them. :)
oh goodness early to mid 20s is what i meant!! i think that usually friends are at the same stage as others in their lives.
I actually am surprised. Currently, I know or know of 11 women who are expecting a baby in 2010. Maybe 2009 wasn't so bad after all :)
Oh and 3 of them got preggie after my wedding, my hubs likes to think it was the music he picked out :)
EDIT: the pregnancies I know of come from family or friends. Of course if I included you awesome bees there would be a lot more.
A bit, although I'm more at that life stage where everyone around me is getting married/just got married. I'm assuming in a few years, I'll be at the "everyone's having babies" stage. My workplace is especially interesting though - I work for a huge company, but it seems like all the women - or a large majority of the ones I notice, at least - are either engaged (with huge rings!), just married, or having babies. Whenever I get on the elevator, I know I'll see at least 2 pregnant bellies and 4 ginormous rings.
I think it comes with our age group. I am almost 25 and it seems I am the only that doesnt have a youngin on my hip! I think I notice I more now because I do want kids and I am always getting a little jealous of those that do. But I am sticking to my guns and waiting until after we say I do :)
I feel the same way, Mr. Bee! All of the sudden, all of my friends and coworkers are mass producing. It's like a wave just came over everyone all at once.
@MrsCox - you are right. I am 28 and this is our first child when most of my family members and friends are either on their second child or starting their basketball team :)
Pregnancy is in the air! But then again, so is marriage. After years of none of my friends leaving single life behind for good, there is a sudden rash of marriages this year. With that surplus of weddings happening, there also seems to be a bumper crop of babies! But my friends (and FIs friends) are all at that age when these things happen- mid to late 20's, a few in their early 30s. I feel certain that of the people I know getting married this year, I'll be hearing pregnancy announcements from a great deal of them come next winter.
There are alot of people getting married and having babies. I was invited to 6 weddings last year. This so far I have to go to two and I am a bm in one, then of course my wedding is coming up. Pretty much everyone I know has kids and quite a few of them have more than two, so even though I am in my early twenties I am one of the few people who doesn't have any kids.
I *was surprised, but then I sat down to think about it...I'm 30...so, those, like me, that were waiting...are just starting...and my friends who started earlier are having their 2nd (or 4th in one case, yowzas).
I admit, I felt a lot of pressure to have kids based on my age, but luckily we were also READY and excited!
No preggo friends yet thank god because I can't handle baby shower gifts on top of all the wedding expenses. I've told my friends that we all need to make a pact that no one can start popping out kids until the wave of weddings is over because my bank account can't handle it.
All of our friends already have their 2nd or 3rd child... We are in our early 30s--- so maybe we are getting a late start? haha
There's usually a baby boom after a recession. I guess when funds are tight, people get "back to the basics," if you will.

Wow so many pregnancies these days!! Haha that's what I get for being in my 30s and also, spending time on a wedding site. :-)
Anyone else amazed at the number of pregnancies in your circle of friends? I had no idea so much reproduction was occurring on a regular basis!!
