I don't want to keep going over budget I'm just thinking of getting shoes I can re-use; is there anyone else not splruging on designer shoes or not going the traditional white satin route?
what am I going to do with white satin shoes afterwards? I've never bougth designer, I never really cared about labels, so long as it looks good and is in my budget. My fiance says I should just be practical get some flats so I can dance
so many pretty shoes; but is it worth it? for just one day?
I'm going with colored shoes. Blue actually. I haven't bought them yet but I probably will go with something a little on the designer side.
I'm definitely buying some colored shoes as well. And I plan on wearing them over and over again after the wedding, so I'll get some good use out of them. They don't have to be fancy designer shoes, just some that will look good with lots of different outfits. :)
My shoes are simple silver leather sandals. I saw so many pretty white satin ones I wanted, but in the end my practical side won and I got something I could use again.
I am actually re-inventing a pair i already have. They are open-toed sandals and i am just adding some bling to the front and VOILA a whole new, never before worn shoe
yeah i'm probably going to get sone re-usable shoes; or go the cheap route and get cheap white satin ones like at payless; I've always been a non-splurger when it comes to clothes; so long as I keep my figure and it looks good, people have never really noticed a difference and I still get compliments
Shoes don't matter to me--they're barely seen with most long dresses. I say go for what's cheap and cute and comfortable, and save your money to put towards the other areas of your budget.
I got white leather flat sandals. Gorgeus and I can totally wear them on our honeymoon and afterwards.
Nobody is really going to notice your shoes. Even my photographer commented to me that she can't believe some girls who spend $600 on shoes when you don't even see them except maybe two pictures worth. I went with practical. My feet will NOT hurt at all and they are waaaay adorable.
I got adelaide by anne klein. they are so comfy by the way.
I'm getting red shoes that I can wear again, I don't care who makes them as long as they are comfy and cute. I'd love to wear Manolos or Loubous but honestly, at this point in my life, its not the best money move. I'd rather put that extra cash into my mortgage or make an extra car payment or something.
I have two pairs that I'm deciding between. I already owned both. One is a gold strappy sandal. The other is a turquoise pump. I will probably bring them both to the wedding and decide right before, as they are the same heel height.
I may do a colored pair for the reception (that is more comfortable than my current 4 inch pair... I won't last long in those!)
The first picture is the shoe I actually have. I tried them on with my dress when I went for a bridal trial! I picked the dress and months later, went back to find the same exact pair (of trial shoes) on sale! They were supposed to be over $100 and I got them for $28!
I'm thinking purple shoes for my change, preferably wedges but a stacked heel would do just as fine.
Depending on which dress I end up with...I'm on the fence right now....I will probably wear these champagne shoes that I ordered a few weeks ago. I LOVE them.
I am wearing ivory Victorian lace boots. I definitely have some long dresses I can wear the boots with afterwards.
I say wear what you feel good in. I am a heels girl but not too big into labels as my uh...finances don't allow for that all the time lol. I'm wearing hot pink and they're not a big designer but I love them even if no one really sees them!!
I didn't buy colored shoes, I bought white-pearl colored platform sandals. I love them!
I'm wearing purple! :
The brand is Nina and the style name is Electra; color is Grape
i will be using a pair of the shoes I already own. I did think I was going to buy new ones but the more I think about im just going to use one of the one I already have.
I'm getting shoes dyed to match my bridesmaids' dresses, but I'm a little offbeat. :) If you're not comfortable with colored shoes, get some pretty silver ones that you can wear again (or wear a silver or neutral-colored pair that you already own). Or, get some white satin dyeable shoes from some reasonable source such as Payless (Unforgettable Moments) and have them dyed your favorite color afterwards. You're the bride -- as long as you don't demand that a guest trade shoes with you, you can do whatever you want!
I wore a pair of red patent slingback heels from Nordstrom, about $90. As a fun pop of color they made their way into a lot of pictures, and I got a thousand compliments on them. I'm glad I had them, and I definitely still wear them now. I think it's a nice detail to have fun/sexy/pretty shoes for your wedding, but I think it makes a lot of sense to have them be something you'll wear after the fact too.
i'm wearing a pair of black strappy satin ones i already own. they're my 'special occasion' shoes :)
good thing is that they're already broken into so i don't risk horrible blisters or pain!
My colors are bright pink, orange, and black... I bought white satin shoes and had them dyed orange.... I think there fun and will look cute with the right non-wedding outfit afterwards...
I got flat bridal slippers. I'll never reuse them, but then again, they were only $36 including the shipping, they are incredibly comfortable, and they definitely look bridal. The seller has a bunch of different pairs in white or ivory.
I found Nina brand shoes at DSW on their clearance rack for under $20. It's dark red satin, and I've already used them twice; therefore the shoes will be my "something used." Our colors are burgundy and the shoes don't exactly match my bridesmaids' dresses, but since I'm wearing white, I hope it'll be okay.
I literally am just starting the look for shoes! i picked a completely different dress, and it's too long by like 2 inches, so instead of paying 150 to get it hemmed, i'm gonna find some cheap comfy small heels!
I got the shoes I wore in our wedding on sale at Macy's -- and used a coupon for an additional 20% off! I think I ended up paying around $40 for them, and I've already worn them again. Yay for non-white bridal shoes!
just bought these. I am sooo happy with them, they are comfortable, inexpensive and I can wear them over and over.
I bought some flats (they're sort of goldenrod/ autumn yellow) at DSW for about $35. I plan on rewearing them ALL the time, I just love them. I wore them to a wedding this past weekend, will wear them to another in September, and then on our wedding day - so I'm not wearing them out too much beforehand. I'm totally with ya - I don't buy designer shoes and I wanted something re-wearable.
My shoes were about $30.00 at Payless and are bright red!!! I love them. :)
Wow, the image of those shoes came out almost life-size! Sorry ladies, I need more practice with uploading!!
I'm doing red! Had to go for lower heel since I suck at walking in heels and FI and I are the same height! I think go with your gut. No need to go white these days :)
Im getting navy blue shoes to match my BM dresses and for my something blue. Im sure I can figure out a time to re-wear them, but they arent outrageous pricewise. I agree - theyre going to be covered enough to the point where, although I love me some designer goods, they'll be seen minimally. My cousins wedding regret was her Christian Louboutians - can rarely wear them again and nobody could see them! (that or changing into a short reception dress so they would be seen)
I'm definitely going with light blue/peacock blue shoes to match our color scheme & perhaps even DIY them a bit with peacock feather in the front like these (Manolo's I was super tempted to buy at the Neiman outlet for 250 but I cant splurge like that) but maybe in a dyed feather so it's not too much
And of course, they will cover my something blue.
Also consider Payless Lela Rose - they are dyeable styles for around $45 - which is great. Have to order them in the store for the satin ones - They have tons of colors. http://www.payless.com/store/catalog/brandlisting.jsp?trail=1014%3A100117&catId=cat10376&brandId=100117
Also getting those clear heel stoppers so I wont sink into the grass at the ceremony - Ill post the link soon - or anyone PM me if you are interested - I have the link on my home computer to order those for $5. But these are similar & can even be decorated - http://www.flashkow.com/index.asp?pageID=62
