Is anyone thinking of doing your own hair for your wedding? I am seriously considering this since I only just want my hair down, curled, and maybe a flower or brooche to one side. I did my own hair for my future sister in law’s wedding (pic below) and there’s only little I would change..maybe just add more volume. I think this is something I can do again, I’m just worried that when the day comes, I’m going to be so stressed with doing it (even though I can) that I’ll have a breakdown. lol It’s also hard for me to accept paying someone $150+ to do something that I can do myself. Anyone in the same boat??

@Seattlegrl: I did my own hair. My only warning is make sure your venue isn’t in a windy area. Had I not gotten married by the ocean my hair would’ve been fine – my hair looks a lot like yours. But I didn’t account for the wind and the hair died.

I’m considering it, but I have really NO experience. The only reason I’m thinking about it is b/c I don’t have a relationship with any hair stylists here and it would be cheaper. My hair usually does what I tell it to… but it’s naturally wavy/curly and I’d want it a very certain way.
Basically I’m hoping there’a youtube how-to vid. Or a miracle.

@Seattlegrl: I did my own hair as well and thought Iwould be stressed it waasn’t as bad as I expected. I did do multiple trials at home to test out the style, perfect it, and play with little variations- mine was up though. We got married on the beach in mexico in july so anything down with curls or volume would have fallen flat quickly and it was a bit windy. By the wedding day I had done the same style 4-5 times before so that calmed my nerves big time, and I gave myself an extra hour’s time to do my hair so I didn’t have to rush or stress the timeline. It’s totally do-able but takes a bit of prep ahead of time to test out the look, products, weather, and holding power…
It’s a very pretty style you have pictured- looks alot like my hair when it’s down and pretty (aka not in a ponytail)!

I wouldn’t have, but if that’s the style you want and you can do it yourself, why trust someone else with it, when she will probably not get the same result? Save the money.

@Seattlegrl: I would weigh carefully how likely you are to be stressed vs. how annoying it is to pay money for something you could do yourself. There are times when paying the money not to be stressed is totally worth it!

I am fairly certain I will be doing my own hair. I want basically the same style as you, and everytime I get my hair done at the salon, I always end up re-styling it myself anyway lol.

@prahajess: I agree, I have been weighing this out and I just can’t decide! I think I will feel more and more comfortable with the idea once I start doing trials.
@Preppy_Bee: Those are my thoughts as well! I may prefer my own styling in the end!
