We are almost in October… which means National Novel Writing Month is almost here! I was wondering if any other bees were planning on doing it this year.
I, myself, have never really given it the full effort before, but I’ve always wanted to. I’m going to do it right this time! I’ve joined my city’s NaNo group, and I’m going to be planning things out in October. I have actually started writing the story I’m going to do already, and just add the 50,000 words to what I have by the time November gets here.

I keep trying the past few years, but I’ve always been too busy, with undergrad, and then law school. But now I am free of school, and I really want to finish it.

Yes! I tried once before and school got in the way. Like you, I already have the story started. I just need to take some time to plan it out and then get the words in. I’m excited!

Yay! Me too, I’m done with school so I’m glad I don’t have homework to worry about, but I’m afraid of not being able to get myself to write after an 8 hour day at work.
I don’t know about you bees, but I need all the incentive I can get to do this! I’m majorly intimidated by 1,667 words a day! I can easily write that many words in a given day…. but every freakin’ day for 30 days? I need to figure out an incentive system.
And whose idea was it to do this during November with Thanksgiving traveling at the very end?

I won 2 years in a row plus JulNoWriMo in between, and I failed miserably last year. I’m hoping to make it work this year, because I know the odds of me being able to do it next year and the year after are slim to none.
I need to start working on my plot and characters once October comes.

I’m impressed I’ve gotten so many responses already! I wan’t sure how many people were doing it here.
What genres are you going to do? I’m not so sure where mine fits, because I think it will read like Women’s Fiction (not Chick Lit), but it’s got a little science fiction element in it, too. Kind of along the lines of The Time Traveler’s Wife. That’s the feel I originally set out to accomplish, even though it’s strayed a little, now.

I really want to…hopefully I’ll have the time/energy to actually do it this year!

I want to do it I definitely need a project to keep my mind off how badly my job hunt is turning out.

the last time I made a serious attempt, I quit at 25k words because of high school 🙁
HIGH SCHOOL! that was like … 2005!

Always wanted to but I keep losing focus. Joined a writer’s group recently, though, so maybe they can keep me on the ball!
I’m not because I started my book last month and hope to have the first draft done by the end of this month (have 30k words so far… must keep writing), but I wanted to say good luck to everyone doing it! 50k in one month is hard!
ETA: I’m writing a sci fi adventure novel. 🙂

Going to attempt it again this year. Failed miserable last year!

i’m gonna attempt it (again) this year. i’ve tried for the past four years, and things always just get so insane in november that i have to quit.
