Our invitation person fell through, so we found out about a month ago that we had to make all 175 of ours.  We’re not even finished making them yet, plus I still have to do the calligraphy for all the addresses!  No clue how it’s going to get done.  We have to send them out by the end of this month.

I also planned to make about 130 paper mache masks, and that’s coming along a LOT more slowly than planned.  Eek!

I’m praying for an army of my clones to appear and help me finish everything before the wedding.

@Evie19:  Not all that much, actually.  We won a big wedding package back in January, and we were supposed to get 100 invitations for free.  The vendor, however, was terrible at communication (I would email her once, wait a week, email her again, wait…  Finally, after three emails and a few weeks, she would respond), and she refused to work with us to personalize ANYTHING, so we told her we weren’t interested.  Thus, we’re going to end up spending just barely less than we would have for the extra 75 invitations we would have gotten from her.

My BMs are AMAZING, though, and the local ones have been coming over one evening every other week to help me with stuff.  We were working on masks before, but I think this week, we’ll end up doing invitations.  FI has been very helpful, too.

@Evie19:  No worries!  It’s a lot more work for me, but our invitations are going to end up being a million times more awesome than anything she would have made.

Our invites are about to be printed, so I’m just hoping we didn’t miss anything major in the proofing process. My mother does calligraphy so she’ll be addressing the envelopes, but she has to start ASAP since it takes her forever (post-wrist-surgery hands don’t write as quickly).

I’ve been trying to order some maple candies from a local vendor, but they haven’t responded to my messages or calls, so I’m done with them — going with a semi-local place and paying for shipping. I’m really upset because this company is supposedly very well-rated, but I don’t see it. Annnnd… well, I’m a vendor, so they won’t be getting much business from me in the future.

My current nightmare is the shower. It’s a miracle that I’m even getting one (looong story) but now some addresses are apparently wrong, one registry is totally malfunctioning so it reflects poorly on me, and according to the hostess, practically nobody from my side is attending. I’m beyond frustrated.

Also, my inner green-eyed monster is rearing its ugly head because my fiance gets a bachelor party and I don’t. I’m so ashamed, because I really am glad he gets some guy time with his friends. Die, you evil, ugly, monster of jealousy!

I hope you ladies are doing okay with everything — sounds like we’re all feeling the pressure of crunch time!!

I was going nuts, but I’m past that point now. I can say from the other side that it does get better and when it’s all said and done, you’ll learn to look past all the mistakes.

Since our ceremony is a private Las Vegas ceremony, we only had to do invitations for the at home reception. Since my FMIL is throwing the reception, we told her we would be needing to order the invitations by a certain time and we sent the proofs to her before they were finalized. She didn’t say she had any issues with them so we went ahead and had them printed. Right after they were printed, she told us that she was upset her name wasn’t on the invitations. Since it was just a reception and not a ceremony, I didn’t think that was required and my FMIL never said she expected for her name to be included. Since we made that dumb mistake, we had to put out an extra $130 to have them reprinted when we really didn’t have the money which was very stressful. Then, my FMIL said that she wanted to take care of the RSVPs which was an issue cuz she is terribly unorganized and does not communicate well. This also has made tracking people who didn’t respond rather difficult and stressful, but at least most of them have been FI’s family.

She hasn’t involved us in the planning of the reception hardly at all. I understand she is paying for the majority of it so we never expected to make all the decisions, but we would like to be let in on the plans at least so everything isn’t a total surprise. Hopefully, the reception doesn’t turn out to be a total disaster.

We don’t have a honeymoon yet.  There have been so many problems with it.  Ugh.

Also, I was about to go to bed, and I was all happy and naked and warm between the covers, but my bridesmaid in Japan just called me on Skype and expected video.  🙁

@Evie19:  We have the money to go elsewhere, so that’s definitely what we want to do.  Right now, however, the travel companies are refusing to get in touch with our travel agent.  We may end up having to do Europe instead of Costa Rica just because no one will send her a response.
