We decided to have our outdoor ceremony start at 8pm. I feel like that is a little odd, but too late to change it now. Wedding a month away and invites have been sent out. The reason we chose a late time is because it’s an outdoor, backyard wedding. Our ceremony is by the pool, so we wanted the floating candles and white lights to really pop out. The reception is also in the backyward, white lights… candles, romance. (: Is this odd?
Not to mention, we have a 2 hour drive after our reception to get to destination honeymoon. Is it unrealistic to hope we get out of there by 11?

My ceremony will start at 7:30 pm and we plan to leave at 11pm. But we are not serving dinner- heavy hors d’oeuvres instead.
As long as your ceremony isn’t too long, and you are okay with spending just 2-3 hours with your guests at the reception, I bet you can make it out by 11 or 11:30 pm.

Ah, just realized I’m the queen of the typos. Anyway, I’m hoping we will make it out at a decent time because our honeymoon is only 3 nights/4 days, so don’t wanna sleep the whole first day of the trip, lol. We are serving dinner-like food, but it’s not a formal sit down dinner and I’m assuming most people will have already ate, so I can’t imagine it will be too long.

our wedding will start at 5…and we will leave at 10 pm…We plan to have a full sit down dinner hence the early start time…I think 8 is a little late…but hopefully there wont be an issue…I say just go with the flow…see what happens and if you get out at 12 am or 11 pm I dont think you should worry about it! There is a good chance if you are aiming for a time to get out of there you will be thinking about it and not enjoy your wedding day as much as you should!
ps-Im guessing you already booked your honeymoon? If not or if its flexible maybe you can leave not the day after your wedding…but the day after that?

Can you take most of your pictures before the ceremony such as a first look and photos with the wedding party and family? That should help you get out on time.
