I work at a bank in Texas, so needless to say my liberal leanings are not shared by many around here. I’m waiting for the guys in my department to show up and hoping I can manage to keep my mouth shut and my skin tough. As for one of the girls I sit by, I’m just playing the quiet game. She always likes to talk politics and I just know it’s coming. While I’ve never directly told her where I stand and who I voted for, she pretty much knows.
Anyway, just wanted to put this out there, mainly to vent. Anyone else laying low today?

Yes… I am a conservative bee working for a very liberal organization in NYC. Only 2 or 3 co-workers know my political leanings and I am trying to keep it that way. Laying low and hoping no one brings the election up to me. I don’t think the workplace is the place for politics no matter what side you’re on! I usually give a nervous laugh and change the subject.

When Obama was elected 4 years ago I was living in Nashville and working in a very conservative office. Everyone came to work angry and sad and I remember feeling like I took a personal beating by the time I left that day. People really should leave it out of the work place.

I’m a conservative white female working for a very small predominantly aftican american non-profit organization. Whenever they talk politics I stay away from the conversation which is unlike me. They were talking this morning about the results and I was braced to tell them to please shut the door if they wanted to continue the conversation. However they stopped. So yeah, I’m going about my day with a low profile!
