I’ll admit it, I totally was a registry stalker back in our pre-wedding days. 🙂

I was super surprised to see that people are buying off my registry so soon! I sent the invites out a week and a half ago for the bridal shower and there are already 15 things purchased!! I am a late shopper so I just assumed that everyone else is too, but I guess not!
And our coffee pot that we registered for was bought!!! YAY!

SimplyEuphoric: Yes!! But after my first shower and when I wasn’t so surprised with the things I got, I realized I should stop checking so much. I check it every now and then, but I promise myself the week of my showers I won’t check (because most people buy it the week of or even the day of!). This way there is SOME surprise.
I am also so guilty of editing my registry based on what we need as time goes. It is probably driving my family nuts!

Our inviations won’t go out for a couple more weeks, but I am sure I will be checking it all the time.
I actually have text alerts set up for my JCP registry, so I’ll get notifed that way. The other two (Target and BBB), I’ll just check. I am sure I’m taking the surprise out of it, but at least I’ll be surprised by who actually bought the items.
My mom told me yesterday that she bought one of the plate sets we want from Target, since the olne she was at had it… I wa slike, um thanks mom… now I have to update the registry to say we only want 2 instead of 3 now.

Guilty. I check every day lol, I always get a little bit excited when I see that the number of items bought has gone up!

Totally bummed because nothing has been purchased all weekend!! Now I’m panicking that only 10 out of the 50 invited are going to show up. I need to stop looking at my registry!!

- Wedding: October 2014 - Church
SimplyEuphoric: Every so often I do, but I know that realistically things won’t start going until much closer to my bridal shower, at the end of August. People don’t usually buy until a lot closer to the wedding and shower, so nothing bought yet 🙂

LOL I so am! But … no one has bought anything yet and it’s a month before the wedding LOL. I’m guessing since a lot of the guests are Filipino, they might just give cash since that seems to be norm for our culture. I’m happy with that but I wanted the experience of seeing something change on my registry ahahah no complaints here though!

SimplyEuphoric: I was a total registry stalker before my bridal shower!! Was so exciting when our items were purchased and so fun to try to guess who bought it!!!

I checked it before one of my showers (I had a shower very early, almost 6 months out) and only a few things were purchased. One of the things was very weird..A food scale and a meat thermometer. The very first things at the top of my registry and something you only buy when everything else is purchased, you know? It wasn’t even cheap.. $35 and $15. I didn’t quite understand and I wondered WHO THEY HECK WOULD BUY SOMETHING THIS RANDOM?! So I waited to see at my shower, I almost thought it was a joke from one of my BMs or something, or an additional present from a family member.
But when I saw it was from one of my good friends from college, I was like, “huh?”. I know she meant well and we were VERY appreciative she bought anything at all, but WTF?? when she knew we just purchased a house and there were plenty of other things in that price range like dinnerware and things we actually NEEDED (and the “normal” things people gravitate towards…bakeware, towels, serving dishes, glasses, etc…) Weird.
We returned it for silverware.
