Is that just me?
I just started looking at shoes (I know, I’m so early) and I’m having such a hard time finding a closed toe heel that’s over three inches that doesn’t have a platform.
The platform just makes feet look so heavy to me, like horse hooves or something (sorry ladies who love them!), is that just me? Am I the one woman who doesn’t like this trend?

I actually think they are cute, but they are one style of heels that I’ve never been comfortable walking. Easy to turn your ankel and have a dramatic fall (from experience!)

@blueteacup: I don’t like it very much either. The larger the platform, the worse. Now, a very tiny platiform is one thing, because it makes a shoe more comfortable since the L shape is less exaggerated, but the huge ones look pointless to me & very bulky.
The platform on my shoe was .5in & made the shoe a lot more comfortable than some of my other heels.

@cbgg: I don’t particularly enjoy them but they are much easier for me to walk in than full-on heels. But I almost never wear anything over 3 inches anyway & I live in a very rainy foggy climate so the more tread on the ground the better!

I don’t like the very exaggerated platforms, but I for one hope the trend never ends. I find it a lot easier to get height without discomfort if there’s an all over lift.

I love the 1″ platform that’s super trendy right now… But it needs to have a 6″ heel at LEAST to balance it!
My heels were 4.25″ with no platform, and they took MONTHS to find!

@blueteacup: ROTFL! Me! I love heels, but platforms always make me think of this…

@MrsSkeletonKey: Now a tiny platform like that I can deal with, that’s just like a slightly thicker bottom. It’s anything over half an inch that just kills me.

@Cyanfire: lol, now that is a ungodly platform. And it seems like that may be the direction fashion is going… The first time I saw creepers in stores (only a few weeks ago) with their two inches of solid rubber I thought it was something for Halloween. I just don’t get it

So tired of platforms. We aren’t all Kardashians trotting around in 6″ heels. So many heels are platforms that look less professional for me to wear at work. I’ve either got to pick something dowdy and lame, or look slightly stripperish (and come in around 6’4″)

I am not a heel wearer at all. I thought oh poo poo when I was looking for shoes. Couldn’t be higher then 3 inches (didn’t want to be taller then DH), did not want platform and most of all, had to be comfy. Could not find any that were comfy. I put all the weight on the ball of my foot so heels kill me. I LOVED my shoes. Ended up in platforms and I kept them on almost all night. SO comfy, loved the platform (since it helped aleviate the foot pain) and I cannot wait to wear them again !

@blueteacup: actually a big trend this fall is hardly-any platform heels. 🙂 Should be easier to find super cute heels/pumps sans-platform

I like the look of them but not the height or the feel.

I don’t find it hard to find single sole pumps at all, they are super in right now. I reccomend zappos, they have free shipping and free returns, so you’re not out any $ if you don’t like something.

@alaskin17: O thank god! You’ve honestly made my day with that news.
