I’m sitting at my desk during my lunch, with the Bee up on my computer, casually eating my lean cuisine, and making flowers out of ribbon that I will use to make pomanders for the ceremony, lol.
There just aren’t enough hours in the day! I never go out to lunch (wouldn’t want to spend the money on it) so I figured why not work on wedding projects instead of aimlessly surfing the web?
Am I the only DIY Crazy in the hive?

Nope – this weekend Fiance and I went to the mall, which is about an hour and 45 minutes away. He drove so I could fluff tissue paper flowers during the ride 🙂
At least I finished enough to finish my 2 biggest parts of the tissue paper to do list for the wedding!
I’m lucky in that I can do most of my internet-y type research for the wedding on work hours (and call it work!) but haven’t brought any big projects in yet to do here except for the envelopes I printed for the invitations.

@thewheelsonthebus: I chose this project to bring in because all I need is ribbon, a needle, and thread. So I just brought some ribbon etc. in last week and left it in my drawer of my desk! After I’m done with ribbon flowers I might bring my shoes in to put crystals on during my lunch, haha.

Our office is all open to each other and to the lobby of the resort so I only do computer type tasks when I’m here, even on lunch… I would hate to have a guest look in and see me playing with my tissue paper 🙂
I’m jealous! 🙂
I may start bringing something small in on the weekends though. The doors are closed then and it’s usually just me or one other person, so making some yarn pom poms wouldn’t be a big deal.

Trust me, all of us DIY girls are like that 🙂

I am just getting to work, for the last week I have been doing my place cards and invitations at work. Folding them and puching the corners. The guys at work are actually helping me punch all the corners because I bruised my hand on the corner punch.

I have so many DIY projects I have to work on them any chance I get. On Sundays I look after a lady with advanced alzheimers so she doesnt do a whole lot so this Sunday I worked on crafts while we watched TV. Her son thought it was pretty funny. I love how obsessed I am about it. I love it:D

I often work on craft projects (cutting out star lantern patterns this week) on my 1 hour long train commute!

I’m so DIY crazy that now since all my projects are done, I quite often try to think of new projects I can add to the wedding!

No! I love to DIY! I would guess that probably 75% of the wedding is DIY. I do it constantly! I have even done some for some of the other brides on here!

I only wish that I was as creative as you all are!! My brain just does NOT do DIY! I love the tissue pomanders, the little yarn pom poms, the brooch bouquets…and I just can’t motivate myself to do ANY of it. Or, I totally convince myself that it’s pretty but I can’t make it as pretty as the pattern/I won’t have anywhere to put it/it’ll cost as much as if I bought it/the excuse line goes on and on and on and on…

My FI’s grandparents just gifted us money for the wedding, and want it to go to flowers. My mom noticed that now we have enough to hire someone to do our centerpieces. My reply was the following:
“This is my one time to DIY the hell out of something! It’s going to be perfect, and it’s going to be cheap. I’m not missing out on my chance to DIY this!”
She was confused.

I don’t know if it is worse or better, but today I’m working on DIY embossed cocktail napkins for an Etsy order (someones baby shower), hahahah. And here’s a picture just because we can actually post pictures now!

@FutureMrsBPB: I am the same! My brain is DIY all the time…But I just can’t seem to get my hands to follow 😉

The only thing I’m doing DIY is invites, so far. So I just spend my free work time on the bee or doing other research.
