I feel like I’ve posted my dress so many times, but I guess it couldn’t hurt again.  I like to see other women who choose an offbeat colored dress as well.  It makes me feel less freakish or insecure.  I’m thrilled about my blue gown though.  Blue is my favorite color and just never imaged myself looking good in white.

I chose the Allure 8350 in Navy/Silver.  It also comes in white, ivory, and fucshia.

I’ll post both the navy and white versions for comparison.  I felt the navy showed the beautiful detail of the dress better than the white.

My dress cost me $850 at locally owned shop, but I’ve seen in other stores for up to $1400.  Keep in mind that I am plus size so I had to spend a little extra ($25) on my dress.

I just saw someone else wore an awesome grey dress! I think colored dresses are fun, i am just way to traditional for that 😛

I am wearing a blush pink colored dress. It is just faintly pink so I don’t know if that counts. It was supposedly made for breast cancer awareness. I love it because it’s a little different, but still traditional.

I tried on a few colored dresses, but they just didn’t look good on me so I stuck with white.  I cant even wear champagne or ivory.  I was really excited for some of the colored ones, too…darnit.  I think that navy dress posted above is absolutely GORGEOUS, and if I could pull it off, I would have worn something like that!  There was another bride on the boards a few months back with a beautiful red gown, I hope she posts hers here!

I am wearing red Smile  I wanted to wear a black dress, but they are even harder to find than red.  It is an Allure Couture #8376.  It has a zip back, but I am going to have a corset back made

My dress is rum pink satin with ivory lace over it, so it’s “colored” without being extreme. As much as I imagined myself wearing something with more color, I found I just didn’t like it when I saw it on myself; I guess my inner traditionalist won out this time! Wink

The pictures really don’t do the color justice; it’s brighter and more evident in person (although still not screaming pink).

I’m not engaged, but when I do eventually get married someday I know I will be wearing pink.  I don’t really feel comfortable in white and pink is my favorite color.  It’s going to be the biggest day of my life, so why not wear what makes me happiest?  I feel like every bride should go with her heart and wear what will make her happy

I haven’t bought my dress yet, but I am not ruling colour out, especially since I look like a ghost (seriously, my skin is so fair you can see my veins, it’s like I’m part zombie, part lizard or something!), and I have a sneaking suspicion that I am going to look horrendously corpse like & washed out in white (even ivory/champagne might leave me looking a bit dead).

I’ve been advised to look at bridesmaids dresses, as well as other ‘formal wear’ stores, though there is definitely a whole internet out there for inspiration.

Those red and blue dresses are beautiful! I definitely plan to wear a bold/dark color as those look best on me. White and pale colors are not flattering at all. At the same time, people who do know me would be shocked if I did wear a light color as that does not fit me in any way either.

I desperately wanted a red dress but I was lectured to death about how its unbiblical (i.e. white symbolizes the pure bride and biblical ideal) it was so I relented. I am considering buying a red dress for the reception though and using the white for church only ;)…
