    Hi *waves*

I always haunt the wedding boards,  this is my first time here in Nesting. I'm EBFing my youngest, she's 19 1/2ish months, and I'm about done. She still nurses pretty often, at night and a few times during the day... Does anyone have any tips on how to wean?

    Thanks!

I'm not a parent yet, but I found this interesting article about weaning a toddler.  The 3rd page discusses some strategies to help make the process easier for mom and child.

@EvaBostonTerrier: Thanks! I read that article earlier, and was actually pretty turned off by alot of the stuff it said :/ For an article about weaning from extended breastfeeding it used a lot of negative words about it.

I did find this term "don't offer, don't refuse" in the comments though, which led me here,

    And that helped! So Thanks!

I plan on doing that! My boy is only 6 months old but I'd like to bf for atleast two years... and we may even do child-led weaning... we'll see how it goes. My mom and my husband think I'm nuts. Oh and I love KellyMom, great website.

@northernazbride: It's been a good run, for what its worth! I'm really hoping she'll just self wean. My FI gets it, my parents and FIL's don't really though lol. Fortunately no-one really gives me any slack about it :)

I am also still nursing my 16-month-old son and want to wean him soon! It's so hard though! I mainly just nurse him to sleep for nap time and bedtime.  It's especially hard because I am a stay-at-home-mom.  So I just figure why not keep nursing him? But I know the longer we go, the harder it will be.  I am really hoping he'll self wean at some point.  I wish I had some tips for weaning! I need tips for weaning! LOL!
