I am having my wedding for June/July 2010 and i love Black...no im not depressed but i think its a classic color and i have women in my bridal party that are all shaped and sizes sooo i thought it would help. I love dark and romanic feels but sadly thats where im stuck. What else do you think i can have to make it more romantic...have you seen ashlee simpsons wedding ?? i love it. But what kind of flowers? would black and white and splash of kelly or lime green look okay? or i dont know - any suggestions??

Sherrlyn Borkgren Photography says  . . .HI kaylastemaste, I wish I was photographing your black dress wedding. It sounds exquisite!

My idea with your black is to perhaps go all black and white --extreme-- then add one more color like the lime or put big splashes of colors for the flowers, or have colorful tables and then back to the bw in flowers.  It's going to be lovely.

I think it will be fine to have black dresses in June. Just have some splash of color in the flowers, etc. Pink, lime, aqua, cranberry, gold, purple - whatever color you like. It's like a blank slate!

Black is one of my favorite colors!! I think you can do so much with it. I have seen alot of weddings lately where the girls are all in black but have a bright colored ribbon around their waiste. You could do each girl in a different color or you could do them all in one color. I think a kelly or lime green would be very nice!! Good luck.

I think that's fine, but maybe go with a tea length or above the knee instead of full length.  I love the pop of lime.

Black and white and green makes a classic and rich color scheme. (It's also one of my most requested color schemes for invitations.) You can make it more lively and fun by adding crystals to your decor and flowers so there's sparkles all over. Think of themes that you can have fun with (A Starry Night, etc.) and peruse bridal magazines for further inspiration. If you're still stuck start by looking for flowers that will make you happy and go from there. Good luck!

I'm a summer 2010 bride and also doing black! Bridesmaids in black, knee length dresses of a style of their choice with really bright flowers (i.e. gerbera daisies in yellow, fuschia, red, orange and white). I think it'll simplify design for me and make it less wintery. Good luck!

I'm doing black and white myself with red flowers to spice it up.  I've seen lots of people doing the same but with green as you suggested.  I think it would be lovely!

Style Me Pretty just did a feature today on a black, green, and white wedding. It's really sophisticated and springy.

I'm doing black, white and pink. Black BM dresses, all white flowers with splashes of pink flowers and pink accents to brighten it up.

I think its classic.  Like others before me have said, I would stick to shorter dresses and use your accent color to lighten it up :)

    Enjoy~

Usually, the deeper colors are reserved for fall and winter weddings, while the lighter shades are used in spring and summer weddings. However, this is not a hard and fast rule. Black will look great with some deep color accents, such as colorful ribbons for the bride and BM bouquets. Good luck with your planning!

I've been to 3 weddings with black bridesmaid's dresses and I love it. Two were September and one was August. My wedding is in August and my girls will be in black. Our other colors are ivory, champagne, and soft pink. I think it works no matter what time of the year it is!

We're having the LBD as the B'maids dress!  I love several over at J Crew!  Summery, cute, and to be worn again 100 percent!

Black is an elegant base color too.  It can be lightened up with different pastels also.  I'm living it up with aqua and a pale pink.  It is a gorgeous color combo in case you are looking for one btw.

Incidentally, August will be our month!
