We got married in May, and Darling Husband knows I’m not a big jewellery person so I usually wear just my wedding band except when it’s a special occasion or we’re going out or something. The engagement ring has always spun around my finger and bothered me despite having it sized already a few times. The band is like wearing nothing at all so I prefer it for everyday wear. Women tend to hound me about why I don’t wear my “rock” and ask me if it pisses my husband off. I’m just wondering if this is odd of me? I’m still showing I’m married by wearing the band, and it’s more comfortable this way.

I think as long as you and your Darling Husband are OK with this, then that’s all that matters! I feel like, long-term, I’ll probably only wear my band on a daily basis. I find that I generally only wear my engagement ring when I go out, but the second I get home, it comes off. It’s just not really comfortable or practical to wear around the house, and taking it off has become part of my “settling in for the night at home” routine (if that makes sense). Because of this, I’m really thankful to have the band now. It’s very simple and comfortable, and I love that it’s easy to wear all the time.

I think that’s a normal thing to do. I plan on doing the same thing, because I don’t like to wear a lot of jewelry and the rock on my ring sticks out and rubs against things. Plus, I feel like not wearing it everyday will keep it in good condition longer.

YOU DON’T WEAR YOUR ERING?! OMG, WHY WOULDN’T YOU WEAR YOUR ROCK?????!!!!! OH, THE HUMANITY!!!!!! (faints).
Seriously, why do these women care? There’s nothing weird about wearing just your band. The ladies hounding you should find bigger things to worry about.

@abirdword: I know, right??
Thanks for the feedback ladies, just wondered if I was committing some unknown sin by doing this because that’s how I am often treated by people.

I wear a $5 titanium 2mm wide band I bought off of amazon.com. I don’t wear my platinum diamond band or my engagement ring unless it’s to a fancy occassion.
My system is perfect for me.

Not weird at all. It’s whatever you guys want to do.

“He’s spent HOW much money on that ring, and you aren’t going to wear it everyday?!”
NOPE! once I get my wedding band it will be optional… because I don’t want to wear it 24/7 when I am cooking/cleaning/gardening etc… I have to take it off whenever I wash my hair as it is. I’d rather be comfortable and have the option to not wear it if necessary.

I can see how wearing the big rock every day would get to be a hassle. It’s your life, do what you want!

I do the same thing. I wouldn’t go to the gym with diamond earrings in, so why would I go to the gym with my diamond engagement ring on? My Engagement Ring spins too, and it drives me nuts, so I usually only wear it when I’m going somewhere special.

I wear just my wedding band when I am at work. Infact I am pretty sure Mr. Hedgie got me a new, undiamonded wedding band for work for Christmas. I am excited to see what he ordered!

I don’t think it’s weird. A lot of people do that.
I wear my e ring every day because I would hate for it to just sit in a box or something. But I don’t judge other people, it’s no big deal.
