My FI has invited his high school best friend and family to crash with us the night before the wedding... not a big concern with me since I'll be staying with my mom or sister that night.  We've also are thinking about having people crash at our house the night of the wedding.  Am I weird to have concern with people staying at our house that night.  I think it's just because some of the people that might stay I dont' really know and I don't want strangers going thru my stuff or taking stuff.  Am I just being weird?  I'm totally fine if mutual friends of ours stay but don't really want kids and strangers staying.

It is really up to you.  Personally, I do not want anyone in my house the night before or night of my wedding.  I just want to come home with FI and be alone.  I do not want to have to worry about house guests.

I don't think that concern is strange at all.  It is one thing to have a very close friend stay at your house while you are not there, quite another to have people you barely know or kids you don't know staying there!

I'd be less worried about people taking stuff than having to clean the house for them and coming home to a messy place afterward. I suppose we'll be cleaning for ourselves, but we'll come home to it how we want it / left it. If people are worried about the cost perhaps they can go in on a vacation rental - check vrbo.
