I recently bought a New never worn Maggie Sottero Adelaide dress from another bee who listed the dress as a Maggie Sottero Adelaide dress and had the pic from the Maggie website. I went ahead and bought the dress and after I paid I emailed her again and asked if it was an authentic Maggie and if she had the certificate. Well needless to say I never heard from her again. She had previously before paying answered all my questions regarding the dress but once I paid and the dress was in the mail I didnt get a response. The dress is in perfect condition as listed and I love it but I am wondering how you tell if its really a Maggie. There are no tags or labels anywhere on the dress. I have never tried on any Maggies dresses so I didnt know how to tell. Any one have a real Maggie that can answer this question for me. I love the dress either way but am just curious.

Post some pics. It is suspicious that she wouldn’t still respond to you after the transaction was completed. But I bought my first dress through a reputable brick and mortar salon/authorized dealer and I never got a certificate of authenticity, so that alone wouldn’t concern me.

I received a certificate of authenticity with my Maggie and it has labels sewn in that say Maggie Sottero Couture. The dress should have a Maggie label inside. I would be very suspicious!

I also got a certificate and have labels sewn in my dress saying Maggie Sottero.

Like the PPs, my Maggie dress also came with a certificate of authenticity and a label sewn inside that read Maggie Sottero Couture and the size. If you love the dress it shouldn’t really matter if it’s a real Maggie or not. I would be concerned you got ripped off on price though. If it’s a replica chances are the previous owner only paid $200 or so for it. Sucks that there’s sneaky people out there like that!

I bought mine from a brick and mortar authorized retailer and I did not receive a certificate. However, mine does have the Maggie Sottero Couture label with my size on it sewn into the dress.

Well I wouldnt say I got ripped off. I only paid $150 for the never worn dress and like I said I do love it and definately got my money’s worth. I just curious of the authenticity of it. After reading the post from the “real” maggie owners mine is probably not a real Maggie but no biggie as I’m not a Label freak anyways as long as it looks nice. I’ll post pics once I get it altered and it fits properly. Thanks for the responses.

I bought a Maggie dress off Ebay that has the Maggie Sottero Couture tag but to my knowledge is NOT a real Maggie dress. I love it all the same though and got a great deal on it, seems to be high quality, but yeah, makes you wonder how these sellers can feel okay passing off a fake.
