WELL, I’ve been waiting for my body to adjust from coming of the depot shot – around 5 months so far – I think I might FINALLY be getting a period and hence, I might finally be able to start teming and getting an idea of what my body is doing with itself! 😀 It’s one step closer to TTC. Any tips or hints on temping and/or interpreting it. I think I’m a bit too excited about this. I also heard if you breathe through your mouth at night, then taking an oral temp isn’t ideal…?

When temping, it should be first thing in the morning, after a solid 3 hours of sleep at least. It’s needs to be rested sleep to be accurate. Waking up to go to the bathroom can make things out of wack. You should also ideally be temping around the same day every day to get an accurate reading of temperature shifts.
I never read anything about mouth breathing. I tend to breathe through my mouth, and I don’t think it made a different. I saw clear temperature shifts. Have you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility? It’s a great resource.

@christinamarie980: thank you! Is it worth tempting during this period? Or should I wait until it stops? I don’t know why I’m so excited! We aren’t even ttc for another 12 Or so months!

@AlmostMrsShield: I temp during my period. I think it’s easier for FF to pick up on the trend with more dates, but that’s just my impression. At this point I could probably temp only for the few days around the shift, but I like to stay in the habit so I don’t forget or let myself sleep through it.
Definitely check out the “Charters of the Hive” threads. Those ladies are fantastic and some of them/us have been charting a while now. ; )
