I didn’t even think about it until yesterday, but my FI when to pick out his tuxes alone. He’s really into fashion, so he knew what he wanted. I forgot to say that there should be some difference between him and the boys, but now he won’t budge.
They will all be in classic tuxes (James Bond style) with black bow ties. We aren’t doing Bouts, so I need help.
Will this look OK? Has anyone ever heard of this before?

I don’t see a problem with it! You could always make his boutonniere different if you want a little bit of a stand out.

Most weddings the groom and the GM look the same. If he doesn’t want to wear something different, I say that’s his choice. Personally, my fiance wanted to stand out so he is wearing a white tie and white vest while the GM are wearing navy ties/vests.

In most weddings I have been to, they have all been wearing the same thing; I don’t think it would look funny at all.
I did go to one wedding where the GM had different bowties than the groom, but this might not work with the classy look he seems to be going for. If he’s fashion-forward, he’ll know what looks good, so just let him take care of it. 🙂
