Is it just me or is everything a bit disappointing?

posted 3 months ago in Beehive

I don't love my dress (the sample was huge, but I was assured everything would be smaller when ordered in my size...it still looks like I'm wearing a giant dress and just had it taken in to fit in the waist)

The centerpiece sample was just blah...not ugly, but not pretty...like I just bought some flowers from the grocery store and put them in a vase

I ordered a hair flower from GabbyMac for almonst $60 and it looks like a cheap hairpiece someone could have made using silk flowers from Michaels (no refunds just store credit...but she assures me these are the nicest flowers so why bother reordering something?)

Our engagement photos are blah - we are doing the same cheesy head to head pose he asked us to do...just blah...

Am I just in a terrible funk or can anyone else relate?

i can most definitely relate.  many of our relatives aren't coming, my friends are flaking out, people generally seem to be really disinterested in a party that i've spend thousands on and worked my ass off for.  and i'm scared that it's going to turn into a giant suck-fest due to the drama-filled relatives and things likely to go wrong.

i guess that i just hope (and maybe it would help you to do it, too) that everything will come together and offset each other, that everyone will be on their best behavior, and even if it's not the beautiful, cohesive event i imagine, that i will have happy-excited-wedding goggles on, so i might think it's better than it is and/or not care because we just got married.  i'm not above denial.  :)

Wedding planning takes time and trials. No on said that you HAD to stick with those centerpieces. I would have them redone and bring in photos. Express concer about the dress and I'm sure they can do more. I had 3 fittings until mine was right. It should fit you perfectly and you should be happy with it. All I can suggest about it is youcould try to sell it and buy a new one, depending on what your budget is and how long you have before your wedding.

I'm sorry you're in a funk. I am sure it will pass. Hang in there hun! HUGS!!

I'm sorry you are in a funk.

I have to say that it's all in what you put into it. My wedding was all that I wanted and more, and I went in with really high expectations and pushed my vendors creatively. And they pretty much all delivered exceptionally.

Find what you like. Communicate it to talented people and they should be able to deliver.

Where things go wrong is if you're working with inexperience, bargain basement or burnt-out vendors.

nothing is final until YOU say it is! if you can do something about it then definitely do it!

perhaps you need to speak with your planner or maybe get one if you dont already have one.

i can definitely definitely relate. that is why i got myself a planner. but in the end it is your one big day and i suggest to do what you can to make it exactly how you want it. but have fun and don't stress! i'm sure your guests will love whatever you have planned!
