Is it true that most men choose yellow gold when choosing the ring for their SO? I chose my own but I’m 100% sure that if my husband would have chosen it himself it would’ve been in yellow gold. I’ve also known a lot of women who’s SO chose a yellow gold ring for them and ending up changing it to white gold. Or am I just imagining things? I have nothing against it I’m just curious. I’m itching for some yellow gold myself actually.
Was yellow gold chosen for any of you Bees and are you happy with his choice?
FYI my husband is not a jewelry person at all and actually chose black titanium with a white gold inlay for himself… Not sure why he thinks yellow gold suits me…Most things he chooses are yellow gold.

Hmmm, my husband wanted a white metal. He said he didn’t care for yellow gold. I dunno.

My FI picked mine out on his own and he got me white gold. He isn’t a fan of yellow so I had no worries

My FI likes yellow gold best, but I pretty much only wear silver/white gold, and since he wants his wedding band to match mine, that’s what he’ll be getting too!

My SO’s not a fan of yellow or rose gold, so even if we hadn’t picked out my ring together (white gold) he probably still would have chosen something in white gold or another white/silver-colored metal.

I don’t know but it does seem like most men pick out yellow gold bands for themselves…

i don’t think most men pick out yellow gold, at this time it is probably more white gold because that’s what’s popular, my FI gave me a yellow gold ring, and i love it (i picked it myself) but when talking about engagement rings initially, i said that if he decided to pick out a ring himself without me choosing it, that i would only want yellow gold. not rose gold or white gold for me

Actually oddly enough we had never spoken about the colour of gold but the placeholder ring DH got me (the ring he proposed with) was in white gold and he said it was because he knew I liked white gold 🙂 which I do 🙂 I just love that he knew that without us speaking about it… Granted I did mainly wear silver so it probably wasn’t a hard deduction 🙂
He has a 2 tone wedding band but only because he prefers yellow for his skin but wanted a little white to tie to mine 🙂

@JustLove25: Hey stranger!!!! Troy hates yellow gold so I was good. He has always been a white metal sort of guy

He hates yellow gold. All the jewelry I have ever been given was white gold.

FI dislikes yellow gold. He wanted me to have a white (or rose) metal.
Personally, I love yellow gold! Rose gold is my favorite, but I ended up with white gold because FI liked it.

Interestingly, FI always gave me yellow gold as gifts. I had to subtly explain quite a few times that I preferred silver, and he did in fact get me a platinum engagement ring in the end. However, had he been left to his own devices, I am sure he would have chosen yellow gold. I am also sure that he will choose yellow gold for himself, even though I will have a silver, white gold or platinum wedding ring. I think men are just more traditional, so they pick the more traditional colour automatically, maybe.

@JustLove25: my mom has yellow gold. maybe guys watch their moms and think rings are supposed to be set in yellow?

I’m not sure what my FI’s stance on yellow gold vs white gold is. When we first talked about getting engaged he asked me what I liked and I told him I hate yellow gold and he seemed surprised. My ring was white gold and we both bought white gold wedding rings.

Not in my case. My husband prefers white metals over gold.
