This might be a silly question but I’m just not 100% sure about this. I have four bridesmaids, all girls I am close friends with and my FI’s sister, who is also one of my best friends. FI’s sister asked me tonight who my maid of honor was.. and I have just asked all my girls to be bridesmaids without thinking about maids of honors or matrons of honors.
Am I supposed to have a maid of honor? If so.. I know I will have a hard time picking as I never wanted to pick at all!

@sunshinewish15: nope! you don’t have to have one if you don’t want one…IMO at least. I’m not really big into traditions though.

@sunshinewish15: no you dont have to. I couldnt pick btwn my sister and best frkend so i made them both my MOHS lol

@sunshinewish15: No, you can call them all bridesmaids if you want.
That’s what I did. Even though one clearly had the MOH role (she stood closest in the ceremony, signed the marriage certificate, sat next to me at the reception), I called both my girls “bridesmaid” partly because I didn’t want to have a hierarchy.
(p.s. I don’t know if you did it for the sake of the North American bees, but “honour” is spelled with a “u” here).

Nope! You absolutely don’t. My friend had seven bridesmaids and not one maid of honor. It just so happened that I ended up with that traditional MoH “spot” because we were lined up by height and I happened to be the shortest lol.

Nope! I’m not having one.

@aussiemum1248: Thank you 🙂 I did know that honour is spelt with the u in Australia but I figured most replies would be international. I sometimes get the comment about spelling mum with a u instead of an o too when I have posted.
Maybe I will do the same with my girls. I know they wouldn’t cause any drama but I still didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.

@sunshinewish15: Sorry… I was just making sure and figured it didn’t hurt to mention it 🙂

@aussiemum1248: It isn’t a problem 🙂 I wasn’t sure how many responses I would get but there is often a lot from US bees. I love it when us Aussie bees find each other on the threads too.
