So, as everyone know, we got married in June. Back then, we were busy moving and settling into new jobs, and we were pretty short of cash, so we did not have a bridal shoot. Although I love my wedding photos, I cant help but want something more. My husband suggested we have a shoot in disneyworld or some vacation spot in the next few months so I can have more photos in different places in my wedding dress. But would that be weird since its been some time after our wedding? I would totally love to do it though..

I don’t think that would be weird at all. If you want more pictures of you in your wedding dress, go for it! Seriously, now you have more time to think about what other location you want to go to and you get to get all dressed up again! I think it sounds fun and you’ll be more relaxed and able to enjoy the shoot more since you won’t be pressed for time. Go for it!

I’ve seen this topic come up on the boards a ton recently (though I’ve been looking for these types of posts, as I’m considering a delayed “day after” shoot as well). It looks like it’s actually pretty common to get shots afterwards if you feel like you’re missing some photos. I say go for it–you only get married once, and you should have all the photos you want! And really, how many times do you actually get professional photos taken? I’m thinking when I do mine, I’ll take my wedding dress and my less fancy rehearsal dinner dress. That way, I can have shots in both and have some photos of just me in a more casual outfit. I feel like I never have a good professional-looking shot to post on places like Linked-in. I thought it there’s a dual purpose, maybe it won’t feel so silly.

It’s a great excuse to wear your dress again! An aquaintance of mine just did a bridal shoot and her wedding was 2 years ago. Super cool, because it was lightly snowing during the shoot and definitely not weird at all!

Absolutely and why the heck not? I’m going to do another shoot in the summer (probably a TTD) because we didn’t get all the shots of us thatweI wanted on our wedding day because we were rushed. Our wedding was in May, so it will be a whole year after when we do our 2nd shoot.

I don’t know if it’s “normal”, but it’s not “weird” either. LOL We did a day-after shoot about a month after our wedding. We intentionally did not schedule a lot of time on our wedding day for portraits of us because we wanted to spend that time with our friends and family instead. So we planned all along to do a day-after shoot. It was great. We had a lot of fun, no time/schedule constraints, and neither of us cared if we got dirty. I’ll also do a TTD session with my 2 best friends, who also happened to get married in 2011. The 3 of us will be doing a beach session, and we’ll find out how well my dress floats! YAY!!!! I am so looking forward to May!
