I think they will look great! FI and I are having a traditional church wedding but not super formal, black tie or anything, and we are going to have the bridesmaids wear long dresses. I much prefer long bridesmaid dresses 🙂

I think they will be fine.  Think about all the maxi dresses you see for beach/pool wear.

They’re fine. One of my BMs is wearing a long, blush pink chiffon dress.

@Fruitypebbles193:  Aw!  I really think they are lovely gowns.  Longer gowns convey that “romantic”, “vintage” vibe to me more than shorter ones.

If you get them shortened, it’s one more thing for you to do and stress over.  You have way more important things to worry about at this point than the length of the dresses.

I think they will look great for the vibe you are looking for. Long and flowy seems romantic/vintage enough. I wouldn’t shorten them. My girls will also be in long and flowy gowns. At first it was going to be at my church but due to issues beyond my control the ceremony will be done at the reception venue and that venue’s vibe is semi-formal to formal.

@Fruitypebbles193:  Normally I would say icky BUT the fabric and design you have chosen is really comfortable and would fit in with your casual/semi-formal theme. I think you are fine with the long dresses as they are more maxi like than formal.

We recently attended a wedding that was incredibly informal but desperately trying to be formal and the combination was bizarre. The BM’s wore satin black pick up dresses with long black satin opera gloves and the wedding was in the middle of a random field. It was just beyond strange, especially considering half the guest list was wearing blue jeans and flip flops (and brought coolers of beer to the ceremony).
