Totally acceptable!  Many couples just host any guests who are in town the night before at the “rehearsal dinner”.  If you don’t want to use that language, you could call it a welcome dinner instead.

I think that is perfectly acceptable! Lots of brides end up not having rehearsals for a variety of reasons (timing is off, venue is closed, officiant can’t make it, too many people coming from out of town and arriving later, etc.) If calling it a “Rehearsal Dinner” feels weird to you, just call it a “Pre-Wedding Celebration Dinner” or “Welcome Dinner” and have at it!

We never even rehearsed anything when my sister got married. We just ate dinner, had a few drinks and went home. 🙂

@mickeees:  You sound way ahead of the game! You will have to post recaps so I can put a face to your name after the wedding! 🙂 I went to a wedding in the Westchester area a couple years ago – beautiful area. I’m sure it will be fabulous!

Completely appropriate!  I am doing the same thing 🙂  We might briefly discuss the otrder of the wedding during dinner, but our 15-20 minute pomp-and-circumstance-free ceremony doesn’t exactly require rehearsing lol
