I think one of the groomsmen could do double duty. 70-80 people are a lot for one usher to seat.
Except for the best man, the groomsmen don't really have any other duties that would prevent them from helping out with seating your guests.
I could be dreaming this, but I think I had once heard 1 usher per 75 ppl.
I had around 100 at my ceremony and had 2 ushers. We probably could have gotten by with one. But, you could need a 2nd for other last minute jobs.
I think we're going to go with 2. I guess it's better to have an extra usher with nothing to do than guests standing around waiting to be seated. Thanks guys!
we had one usher for 70 people and it worked out fine. we didn't have a seating arrangement for the ceremony, so people just sat either on the grooms or brides side. we did have reserved rows but the people who were suppose to sit there already knew it was reserved for them.

Ok...we were originally going to have 2 ushers but the drama llama paid a visit yesterday and the FI and one of his groomsmen got into an argument leading to him no longer being in the wedding. Grrr. So now one of the ushers is taking his place. We are planning on having 70-80 guests. Is it neccessary to have 2 ushers or do you think 1 is enough? Thanks!
