Is it ok to put 6-27-15 on the save the date or should I write out "June".

rel318:  I think it’s fine in your case because the 27 and 15 can’t be mistaken for the month. I might say differently if it was 2-3-15 or something similar since some countries it is month-day-year, and other places use day-month-year.

rel318:  In your case, I don’t think it will be an issue because there is no 27th month to cause confusion.

It’s more of an issue for 12/11/15- since not every country handles it in the same way.

rel318:  I don’t think anyone would read that and mistake may or june. the period does seem to run together between the 6 and the 2, though. maybe make the distinction between the numbers more obvious, then no one should mistake it.

rel318:  Can you make the periods between the numbers a different color? Maybe the blue? I don’t think they will mistake the date, but as the pp has said the period between 6 and 27 is not very distinct.

I think you should be fine.  STD’s are more on the informal side and it is perfectly acceptable.

Because of the 27th you’ll be fine.

My fi’s sister actually had a no show cause her invites said 8-9-15 and he thought it was Sept 8, not Aug 9.

I honestly think you’re fine. If people can’t figure out that June is the 6th month of the year, that’s their problem!

Our wedding was the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, and although we had sent out save the dates and invites with 5-25-14 or May 25, 2014 on them, the biggest thing I realized I should have done was point out that it was the SUNDAY of Memorial Day and not Saturday. Most people assume a wedding is the Saturday of any given weekend, and up until about a week before the wedding, we had a few guests who thought our wedding was Saturday, until they looked closely at a calendar. We didn’t have any actual mix ups so that was good, but looking back, I suggest if you’re getting married on a different day of the week than a Saturday, you should put it on your STD’s/invites just to make sure!
